Meet Kilee Armstrong

Kilee Armstrong is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist with over 16 years of professional experience and a passion for helping athletes unlock their full mental and emotional potential. A certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist with advanced training in sports psychology consulting and sports hypnosis, Kilee offers a truly one-of-a-kind approach to mental performance coaching. The program she delivers is not only custom-designed, but also finely tuned over the last decade—making her services truly unmatched in the region.

Kilee’s work is all about transforming good athletes into great ones, and great ones into champions.

As a former elite athlete herself, Kilee brings firsthand knowledge, empathy, and understanding to every session. She grew up competing in USA Shooting Sports and earned national recognition as a top-ranked marksman. A Junior Olympic competitor and full scholarship athlete at the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC), she spent four years competing on the collegiate shooting team while earning her bachelor's degree in psychology. To this day, Kilee remains active and adventurous—participating in summer biathlons, distance running, and horseback riding.

Kilee owns and operates her thriving therapy practice in Andover, Kansas, where she works with athletes of all ages and from a wide range of sports disciplines. Her work in sports hypnosis and mental skills training has supported athletes in tennis, baseball and softball, basketball, volleyball, track and field, cross country, swimming, equestrian sports, rodeo and breakaway roping, professional bull riding, golf, wrestling, cheer tumbling, gymnastics, weightlifting, and endurance events like marathons—just to name a few.

Kilee specializes in helping athletes master the three essential pillars of peak performance:

  • Overcoming the fear of failure

  • Building unshakable confidence

  • Developing the mindset of a true champion

Her philosophy is simple but powerful:
Success in sports doesn’t come from overcomplicating things—it comes from having the right tools, at the right time, practiced with purpose.

Kilee will act as A4A’s counselor.

Each student-athlete will meet monthly with her for a quick check-in on their mental health and if they need any strategies or help with any current issues in their sports lives.

There will also be opportunities, should families find it needed, that she can meet virtually during school hours with the student-athlete for more traditional therapy services and/or sports visualization and hypnosis sessions.

Mental health is a vital part of not only life—but also peak performance in sports.

We are excited to partner with Kilee, bringing her expertise and passion to our academy. This collaboration allows us to offer powerful, transformative mental health support and resources to our student-athletes, helping them grow stronger both on and off the field.
